25 Hill Television Premiere

25 Hill, a film from writer/director/actor Corbin Bernsen (LA Law), about a boy who, after his father dies fighting in Afghanistan, continues their plan to compete in the All American Soap Box Derby, premiered earlier this week on the Inspiration network. Many thanks to fellow composer Lee Strauss for having me help out with the score.

The short “Morocco to Israel” won third place at the 2011 Carnegie Mellon Faces of Migration International Short Film Festival. The film is about a family of Berber Jews that emigrated from Morocco after the formation of Israel in 1948 and the independence of Morocco in 1956. Congratulations to director Avital Epstein!

Finishing the music for a film for the new Spectacle Island Visitor’s Center reminded me that I never posted this short arty project I scored for the same director, Elliot Higger, when she was finishing off at Emerson. In exhibition, the film shows in a loop, with multiple screens of different shapes and sizes squeezed together.

Independent Film Festival of Boston 2011 Intros

Finally got around to posting the IFFBoston Intro clips I scored for this year’s festival. It was a lot of fun solving the problem of how to flow across the countdown chirps while making the genre and movie references. Take a look . . . and if you’re still detoxing from IFF Boston, here’s a little hair of the dog.

Lantana Games – Children of Liberty

I’m very excited to be officially working as the Resident Audio Director for Lantana Games, providing sound FX, audio production and audio programming for their upcoming game Children of Liberty.

Children of Liberty is an historical game that takes place between Boston, Lexington and Concord on the eve of the American Revolution. Besides fantastic gameplay, COL is putting a premium on creativity and historical accuracy, featuring completely hand-drawn animations and audio effects based on recordings of authentic artifacts and locations. It’s going to be a fun and challenging project to both work on and play!

Just posted a clip of the intro from “Morocco to Israel”, a short I scored about Moroccan Jews that emigrated to Israel in the 50′s and 60′s. The film recently premiered at the Miami Jewish Film Festival. You can check out a couple of audio tracks here as well.
